Luxottica teams up with France Medical to organise CPD events on dry eye for their members
Brisbane, October 2016
France Medical and Luxottica are organising a total of 5 CPD nights around Australia to introduce France Medical’s dry eye management solution to Luxottica partners.
France Medical provides both diagnosis and treatment equipment to professionals dedicated to offer long-term relief to their dry eye patients.
The events will be divided into speeches and workshops to demonstrate the use of the equipment and explain all its benefits to OPSM practitioners.
Equipment released during the event:
Dry eye diagnosis tool: Antares, by Italian manufacturer CSO
Antares is an all-in-one device that performs corneal topography, NIBUT analysis, lipid layer grading, infrared meibography, pupillography and contact lenses fitting.
Its built-in keratometer and automatic measurement system give access to a unique feature called auto-fit, which ensures optimum accuracy in the selection of contact lenses. The practitioner can check in real time if models and diameters fit the cornea offering perfectly calibrated lenses to the patient.
Dry eye treatment tool: E-Eye, by French manufacturer E-Swin
E-Eye is an IPL device that generates a polychromatic pulsed light by producing perfectly calibrated and homogenously sequenced light pulses. It does not directly affect the Meibomian Glands. Its action is INDIRECT.
The flash emitted during the treatment is going to stimulate the creation of neurotransmitters by the nerve connected to the Meibomian Glands. The neurotransmitters released will then be able to interact with the Meibomian Glands, stimulating the secretion and the contraction of the glands. It leads the latter to return to their normal function, relieving the eyes from dryness.
